You've never seen a rainstorm before until you've seen a "Texas Rainstorm!" Every summer the kids look forward to at least one rainstorm to play in. This rainstorm happened to be in the morning soon after they woke up, so I let them play in the rain in their nightgowns. One good thing about the summer rain in Texas is that it is really warm (or as Kari calls it -- a warm shower from the sky!) Here are a few pictures of their fun:
While coming in from the rainstorm, Emily caught her a little friend: "Tex the Gecko". He lived for awhile in the glass jar, but then escaped one day after the jar was knocked over. She then caught another one and kept that one until the gecko lost its tail and the tail was wiggling all over the jar by itself. The gecko happened to be on the other side of the jar. After a loud scream, she threw the jar into Grandma and Grandpa's lawn -- that was the end of the "gecko" business!
