Each child in Kari's Kindergarten class gets a turn to be "Scientist of the Week". This week was her turn and boy was she ever excited! She got to pick a special "experiment" from a notebook and teach it to the whole class. Her teacher, Miss Schear, makes it so cute for them. They get to wear a white "lab coat" and goggles and they sit at the experiment table and demonstrate their experiment.
Kari's experiment was making a "Howler Growler." You take a plastic cup, put a hole in the bottom of it, and string a piece of string through the hole. You tie a button to the end of the string that goes in the bottom of the cup. Pull the string tight and scrape your fingernails down the string and it sounds like a lion's growl. (Kari was pretty upset after her "experiment" because we didn't do anything that splashed in her eyes...she wanted her goggles to "protect" her eyes!)
We had enough cups, string, and buttons for each kid in Kari's class to make one. What a cute bunch of Kindergartners!
